Michael Ray Releases New Single ‘Whiskey and Rain’

US country music sensation Michael Ray is back and sounding better than ever with his brand new single ‘Whiskey and Rain’ which is a stunning 90s influenced offering that is steeped in classic country stylistics making it an instant classic from an artist who is ready to begin an exciting new musical chapter.

Having spent much of his time split between Nashville and his hometown of Eustis, Florida his musical inspiration is varied and rich with a lot of influence coming from his early childhood and family ties meaning his sound is authentic and true to what makes him tick as a person and artist.

And with this latest offering, he takes his sonic sound back to the country roots of his early releases meaning he can deliver a soaring vocal and truthful lyrics that evoke that 1990 classic sound that was so influential in breaking barriers for country music artists across the world and is still revered today.

Speaking about his hometown inspiration, Michael Ray states: “If I start feeling real down, I just need to go down there for a few days to see everybody. I’ll get rejuvenated with my family. Something about being on that dirt just does a lot for me. This year helped me realize that going back home allows me to move forward, being around the people who would say, ‘We know you can do it’ when I would say, ‘I think I can do it’ as I was getting started.”

The latest offering is acting as a bridge between country old and new for Ray as he begins the promo trail for his forthcoming third studio album which is set to be his most honest body of work to date and will no doubt include a raft of country smash-hits that will delight both fans and critics alike.

Speaking about his newest single, Michael Ray says: “I miss story songs that you have to listen to all the way through to understand. This song is everything I love about country music – traditional Country music, like Tim McGraw and Earl Thomas Conley, and I want to bring that back. This is the music I originally came to Nashville to make, and I’m grateful to have this opportunity for fans to get to know me better as an artist.”
