Sheryl Crow Releases New Single ‘Woman In The Whitehouse’
A nine-time Grammy award winner, American singer/songwriter Sheryl Crow is one of the most empowering voices within the country crossover scene and for decades she has been at the forefront of the women’s movement of becoming frontrunners within the genre.
The performer always looks to knock down doors and break barriers as she forces change within the “boys club” and also looks to inspire her legion of listeners with every release. Every single song she shares has a deeper meaning when delved into and her latest offering is one of her most meaningful yet.
The track is a reimagining of the stellar 2012 B-Side ‘Woman In The Whitehouse’ and the makeover sees the soaring track given a raging guitar backdrop and powerful drums that give the song urgency and breathes new life into the already brilliant original.
Speaking about her newest release, Sheryl Crow says: “When I first recorded this song 8 years ago, I was hopeful that we, as a nation, would seize the moment and put a Woman in the White House. That did not happen – but our movement of strength grows as we take to the streets and make our voices heard. We must not stop there. It is time for us to show up to the polls, be seen and heard as the great leaders we are.”
Given everything that is currently going on in the United States at the moment, this song is even more relevant especially as US citizens have seen Democratic Presidential Nominee Joe Biden committing to a woman running mate, with people now eagerly awaiting for the announcement of his vice presidential pick.
