The Chicks Release New Album ‘Gaslighter’
14 years after the release of their last studio album ‘Taking The Long Way’ country music trio The Chicks return with their stellar new LP ‘Gaslighter’. The record comes after the band dropped the name “Dixie” from their brand as it referenced the American Mason–Dixon line, which was used to separate the free and slave-owning southern states.
Now as they begin their latest era, The Chicks are back and sounding better than ever. Their luscious three-part harmonies are the driving force behind this full-length LP and with its empowering lyrics and anthemic productions, it is a real standout from the band who are still very much in demand following their long hiatus from sharing studio albums.
The record has seemingly been inspired by Natalie Maines’ 2019 divorce and is an incredibly personal collection of songs that inspire and pull-on the heartstrings of listeners across the world. The title track ‘Gaslighter’ and ‘Sleep at Night’ sees Natalie laying out an ex’s deception in a brutal and honest fashion.
The Chicks are never a band that shies away from hard-hitting topics and with this release, they once again lay out their truth for the world to see. They always look to inspire with their music and the impressive ‘Gaslighter’ tracklist once again showcases to the world that the trio are not backing down when it comes to speaking up.
The record sees The Chicks delivering a fresh sound whilst keeping hold of their classic sonic stylistic toeing the line perfectly between old and new as they share their innermost private details of what’s been going on in their lives since their 2006 album release.
