The Rising Announce New Single ‘Better Than This’

Irish country/rock duo The Rising are taking 2020 by storm by releasing a brand new single every month. Their latest offering came in the form of the stellar ‘I Want You’ and now they are following on from the success of the track with their newest release ‘Better Than This’ which drops September 11th.

The song was recorded during the enforced government lockdown across UK and Ireland, with the pair putting the track together at Renegade Studios with remote recording also being done in Nashville, TN with drummer Chris Brush adding the drum overlay which perfectly compliments the overall vibe.

The forthcoming single will get its first radio airplay exclusively via Chris Country on September 9th, with The Rising also launching an exciting competition which will see one winner receive a signed physical copy of the single, art print and a copy of the album ‘Moving On’ on vinyl. To be in with a chance of winning all you have to do is find the hidden R logo within the official ‘Better Than This’ artwork and DM/PM the Irish duo via social media.

Speaking about the lyrical story within their new single, Chris and Chantelle say: “Better Than This is an uplifting story which deals with the theme that no matter how hard things seem, they can always get better. It follows the two central characters. One is a singer-songwriter who is struggling hard playing in all the dive bars she can to make a go at being a successful musician. The second character a successful businessman who ends up losing everything”.

The track offers a brilliantly unique take on what it’s like to be an independent musician in these current times, and also delivers a message of pure hope that true light can be found out of the darkest of days and situations – something we all need to be reminded of in these unprecedented times.
