Twinnie Reveals Inspiration Behind New Single ‘Whiplash’ To BBC INtro York
As 2020 kicks off its summer period, rising country crossover sensation Twinnie has continued to promote her incredible debut album ‘Hollywood Gypsy’ in innovative new ways due to the obstacles put in her place because of the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) global pandemic.
The Brit singer/songwriter has spent much of lockdown at home in York where she has been quarantining with her mother and step-dad and has delighted her fans with regular live-streams across social media, standout cover snippets, and taken to TikTok to share lighthearted comedy clips in order to lift spirits.
And along with plenty of social media coverage, Twinnie has also shared several new official singles off the impressive ‘Hollywood Gypsy’ tracklist including ‘Daddy Issues’, ‘More’ and most recently ‘Whiplash’. The singer/songwriter has also shared a music video for ‘More’ much to her fan’s delight.
Last month, Twinnie also shot the official music video for ‘Whiplash’ in London on a socially distant filming set to ensure all safety measures and government guidelines were followed. The clip has yet to premiere but with the track now being played across radio, it shouldn’t be too long until it’s live.
And during last night’s (Saturday, July 4th) BBC Intro York radio broadcast, the English performer revealed the inspiration behind the lyrics of ‘Whiplash’, saying: “It was inspired by a motorbike accident I was in about 10 years ago with my ex. I remember being on the back of the bike, not really thinking about the consequences if I came off it and hurt myself. I was just enjoying the adrenaline and rush, and it was the first and last time that I’ve ever been on a bike. And I just thought it was a really cool concept of a song, relating it to a relationship of how you know they’re not really right for you but you do it anyway because you’re enjoying the drama and thrill of it”.
