Twinnie Shares New Song ‘Karen’
Back last year country-pop singer/songwriter Twinnie created a bunch of content whilst stuck at home during lockdown 1.0, and now in the midst of lockdown 3.0, the York singer/songwriter is releasing some of what she put together in the last few months including the anthemic crossover smash-hit ‘Karen’.
The tongue-in-cheek song has been created for those who have a sense of humour and was first previewed by the Brit sensation across TikTok back in 2020 and now as we usher in a new year the vocal powerhouse is gearing up for a new musical chapter as she looks to follow on from the success of her debut album ‘Hollywood Gypsy’.
So far ‘Karen’ hasn’t been officially released as a single across download and streaming platforms but is instead available to listen to for free on Soundcloud whilst Twinnie has also shared a fun video to accompany the Barnabas Shaw co-produced release that features her mam and was filmed by Naomi Kane.
The quirky pop-infused track makes a play on the slang term “Karen” and flips it into a relationship dynamic pointing out a guy’s flaws who is always looking to get a reaction and stir up trouble making for a tongue-in-cheek juxtaposition on the term that has been brought into mainstream use in recent years.
It’s a feel-good summer-infused offering from Twinnie who is a performer who always looks to bring a little humour to the British country music scene and once again she has done just that at a time when it’s needed most whilst also shining a light on her incredible vocal prowess.
