Twinnie Teases New Song ‘This Year Sucks’ Via TikTok

Music artists have been hit hard by Coronavirus restrictions with multiple tours canceled and recording opportunities minimal and as the pandemic continues to grip the world the green light for getting music and theatre back to a normal standard is still a ways away and Twinnie has been one of those artists majorly affected by COVID rules.

Having released her long-awaited debut album ‘Hollywood Gypsy’ back in April one month into the enforced UK lockdown which came after she had already been forced to cancel her headline tour back in March just as the Coronavirus was hitting its peak in terms of infection rates, whilst promotion for her record was almost at zero with the LP not even being able to be made available in stores due to quarantine.

But despite the setbacks, the York singer/songwriter managed to bag herself a top-five place on the Offical UK Country Album Chart with the project peaking at number 2 while Radio 2 made it their Album Of The Week and top publications such as The Telegraph raved about the Shania Twain vibes running throughout the tracklist.

And during lockdown, Twinnie has been gifted with spare time in order to create new music which she has been teasing across her TikTok platform. Earlier this summer she shared the tongue-in-cheek ‘Karen’ and now she is back sharing another sneak peek at what she’s been working on this time with the aptly titled ‘This Year Sucks’.

Singing what everyone has been thinking this year, the English performer has created the perfect soundtrack to 2020 with relatable lyrics such as “what a joke of a year it’s been”, “every month another fire to put out”, and the more poignant “I know I should be grateful that I’m still here” the singer/songwriter has captured the vibe of 2020 perfectly. This year truly has sucked.

Twinnie is one of the most exciting talents within the British country-pop scene and as she continues to share more and more new music that delivers true-to-life messages that truly connect with what listeners are going through it’s only a matter of time before she becomes the global face of UK country music.
