VIRTUAL LIVE REVIEW: Twinnie @ Haley and Michaels’ ‘Drinking About You.K’ Tour
As the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID -19) pandemic continues to shut down the live music sector artists across the world are looking for ways to bring gigs to their fans in a safe way and virtual live-streams have become a huge part of 2020 with acts across the board taking their shows online.
One of those performers taking the online streaming platform to the next level are Haley and Michaels who have delivered the brilliant ‘Drinking About YoU.K’ tour to listeners across the globe where they shine a light on the British country talent with showcases from UK and adopted Brit artists.
And tonight, (Thursday, August 20th) York superstar Twinnie was the special guest where she delivered a truly outstanding live-stream performance filmed from the safety of her own home with the brilliant performance being beamed to homes across the world via Facebook Live.
Kicking-off the three-song acoustic set, Twinnie delivered a stunning stripped back offering of her hit ‘Daddy Issues’ with the rendition shining a light on her breathtaking vocal as she sang with beautiful control. Accompanied on guitar by Barnabas Shaw the English artist was able to offer a gorgeous mini concert-style performance.
Taking the mood into more fun territory, the singer/songwriter then belted out her stand-alone single ‘Cupid’ which has been a fan favorite for a couple of years now. Opening up about the lyrical story beforehand the Brit confirmed she wrote it when she was “really annoyed at being single”. Always a huge favorite this acoustic rendition was a major standout of the live-stream.
Closing out the evening, Twinnie shone a light on her outstanding live vocal with a stunning performance of the emotive ballad ‘Lie To Me’. Penned around 8 years ago the track still feels fresh and relevant and is always a huge highlight of any Twinnie show, especially when she hits that incredible high note which cements her status as the leading female vocalist in British country music.
Along with delivering a truly impressive live set for the virtual tour, Twinnie also showcased her down-to-earth personality, and relatable songwriting talent and confirmed the exciting news that when COVID restrictions allow she will be heading to Nashville to begin a radio tour in support of her forthcoming US EP release.
An insanely talented live performer, Twinnie always manages to put on a show-stopping performance whether it be at an actual in-person show or like tonight when it’s via a virtual stream her “on stage” presence is up there with the best while her voice is one of the most beautiful you’re going to hear in country music.
