Ward Thomas Announce New Single ‘Meant To Be Me’
Fresh from releasing their stunning synth-pop infused new single ‘Sweet Time’ earlier this summer along with an acoustic rendition shared this month, British country-pop duo Ward Thomas have announced their brand new single ‘Meant To Be Me’ which will be dropping on Friday, August 28th.
The upcoming track will act as the latest offering off their forthcoming studio album ‘Invitation’ which will be releasing this October via WTW Music and follows on from their 2019 third album ‘Restless Minds’ which secured them a huge top-ten hit on the UK All Genre Album Chart.
Speaking about their upcoming LP, Ward Thomas say: “2020 has been a year full of learning, which we feel has changed our approach to this album. We recorded a lot of it from our cottage, and working remotely came with its share of challenges, but also new opportunities. Although recorded during uncertain times, the record feels like an invitation to a more positive time; to a more open and exciting new chapter. We named it after a lyric in the song ‘Open Your Mind’ because the album feels like an invitation – whether it be figuratively, an invitation to self-reflect, or physically, to a time when we can all party again.”
And now the twin sisters have confirmed that ‘Meant To Be Me’ will deliver a new sneak peek of to what’s to come from the full-length project this October with the track offering a fantastic sonic sound that allows them to incorporate their country roots foundation into explorative pop stylistics while the clever use of a mandolin elevates it to heady heights and anchors it to the country genre.
Over the course of their three previous albums, Ward Thomas have expertly experimented with their natural country sound and as they begin an exciting new chapter with their fourth studio project they are further dabbling in genres whilst always making sure outstanding lyrical stories are at the core of their songs meaning they always keep in line with the country style.
