EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: First Time Flyers Talk Debut Album and UK Tour

Having released their much-anticipated debut album ‘Bound To Break’ earlier this month, which has been followed by a UK headline tour in support of the record, British country band First Time Flyers have further propelled themselves to the forefront of UK scene. Here we chat exclusively with the four-piece to discuss the album and UK tour.

Congratulations on the album. How does it feel to have this record out in the world?

Thank you so much! It’s the greatest feeling in the world to put so much love and hard work into a body of work and to finally see it out in the world for people to listen to and love!

How has this process been for you guys?

This process has been one of the greatest journeys to experience. As 4 best friends, this album has been our lives for the last few years, and to write our stories into songs that then get released is such a huge honour. It’s why we make art and songs: to share our lives and stories so other people can feel through them.

Is there a standout moment from the beginning to the end of this record coming to fruition?

Truly, every moment we get to share together and with the fans is a moment to cherish! Playing live is always special for us.

If there was one song you could play to fans off this album that sums up the whole LP, what would that be?

Ah, that’s a great question. We truly think the beauty of this album is its diversity and flow. Each song holds hands with the other, the same way we do when we write from personal experience. There is a song there for every emotion and every person, so hopefully everyone finds their own anthem, so to speak.

What are you hoping fans take away from this collection?

We hope they feel seen and heard. The detail and vulnerability of our real experiences are immersed in every lyric, melody, and song, so we would love for them to just enjoy the journey of the album, on whatever journey they’re on in their own lives!

How excited are you to be a part of the push of UK country?

We love country music, and to be part of it in any part of the world is a huge privilege.

You’re also touring this album. How much fun do you guys have on the road?

Far. Too. Much.

Which song are you most excited to play live?

Well, we are playing every single song, and that’s new for us! A lot of these songs have never been played live, so that’s kind of wonderfully scary
