Dasha Releases New Single ‘Train’

Ahead of her return to the UK, playing arenas across the country opening for Kane Brown, Dasha has released her heartfelt new single ‘Train’ which is lifted off of her upcoming EP ‘Anna,’ which releases globally on October 10th and builds on the success of her breakout album ‘What Happens Now?’

‘Train’ masterfully connects a sound to the idea of getting settled into new surroundings, with the song beginning with Dasha singing about the annoyance of the noise of trains outside her bedroom window waking her each morning. But as the track unfolds and develops, so does the lyrical meaning. Somehow, that annoying backdrop of noise becomes a part of the charm of her new city.

Speaking about the new release, the Nashville-based singer/songwriter says: “This is actually my first outside cut, which feels so special because Nashville is built on the songwriters and the stories they tell. When I first heard this one, it was like it had been written straight out of my own diary. It instantly took me back to being 18, leaving home and moving to Nashville to study songwriting at Belmont, figuring out who I was and trying to get comfortable in a brand-new world. All those emotions are wrapped up in this song, and I’m so grateful I get to be the voice behind it.”

Those emotions that many can relate to certainly come to life in the nostalgic-filled lyrics: “Because time changes everything / You hang some pictures up and make / Habit out of taking the same way to the grocery store / You learn the turns and time the lights, the town you didn’t recognize / Becomes a little more like home.”

The RIAA globally certified 49x Platinum country-pop sensation has become a global phenomenon in the past couple of years, and ‘Train’ expertly builds on her past successes while leading beautifully to the next chapter of the ‘Anna’ EP and upcoming UK tour dates with Kane Brown.
