LIVE REVIEW: Vic Allen @ The Libra Theatre, London
Easily becoming one of the most talked about talents within the burgeoning UK country music scene, crossover artist Vic Allen has proven time and time again that she is a leading voice and raw talent, and her Ended In A Tour run of dates for her first headline tour were nothing short of impressive.
The tour came to a close in London on Thursday, November 13th, at the cosy Libra Theatre nestled on the main road of Chalk Farm, Camden. The intimate room beneath the cafe was bustling with eager fans, with the showcase being Vic’s second sold-out show there on this brilliant tour run.
Hosted by Talentbanq, Vic Allen was joined by pop artist Beth Keeping, the two are close friends having met in Nashville a few years ago, and Keeping’s soulful vocals and intricate storytelling held the audience rapt. She’s a true talent, and hearing her voice fill that small room was truly spellbinding.
After Beth closed out her impressive set, it was time for the headliner Vic Allen, to take to the stage, and she did not disappoint delivering a truly beautiful acoustic set that offered listeners a glimpse of new music to come, whilst the request jar threw up a suggestion of the classic ‘Quit’, transporting the audience back to her early days.
Much of Vic’s music is lyrically based around travelling, so it comes as no surprise that she is an artist who is easily able to transport her listeners to the heart of the story, making them feel as if they are living that experience with her for those four minutes. She’s a born storyteller, and her show at The Libra Theatre was absolutely wonderful.
Warm, inviting, and down-to-earth Vic Allen’s personality is every bit as magnetic as her country style songs. She is an artist with a unique ability, able to draw in listeners and keep their attention for the full span of her performances. Her headline tour has been truly spectacular, and this feels like just the start of her playing much. much bigger rooms in the very near future.
