Carly Pearce Announces New Single ‘Next Girl’
Fresh from sharing her outstanding self-titled sophomore album back in February of this year, Carly Pearce returns with brand new music this coming Friday (September 4th) which comes on the back of the impressive vocalist picking up four CMA nominations and finalizing her divorce from fellow country singer Michael Ray.
The year 2020 has been full of twists and turns for the American performer with a fresh, blank canvas now ahead for the artist as she begins the next chapter of her personal life and music career and this forthcoming single is the exciting start of what promises to be a hugely successful new phase for Carly.
‘Next Girl’ follows up Pearce’s CMA nominated hit single ‘I Hope You’re Happy Now’ which features Lee Brice and is one of the biggest radio hits of the last twelve months. With her newest release, we will see Carly returning to her natural country roots as she shrugs off the pop undertones that have featured on previous releases as she lays her truth bare.
Speaking about her latest offering ‘Next Girl’, Carly Pearce says: “So, this is my way of being the big sister, or the sassy girlfriend to all the other girls out there in the dating jungle. Maybe if we all looked out for each other, we’d end up with a little less heartbreak and a lot more laughter.”
The track pays homage to Pearce’s 90s heroes such as Reba, The Chicks, and Pam Tillis with the lyrical story delivering a message that women the world over can relate to; getting swept up in the moment and falling “in love” with a womanizing man who knows how to turn on the charm in order to get what he wants.
