Kalie Shorr Releases New Single ‘My Voice’

Having recently signed her very first record deal with New York label Tmwrk Records, Nashville based country music artist Kalie Shorr is gearing up for the re-release of debut album ‘Open Book: Unabridged’ which will be shared as an updated package on Friday, December 4th.

And as she continues towards the release of the LP, the multi-talented singer/songwriter is getting honest on new single ‘My Voice’ which sees her baring her soul and telling her story her own way. She is one of the most important writers within the country scene and this powerful offering drives home that sentiment.

The tracks impressive lyrical story focuses on the many criticisms that have been thrown at Kalie over the years such as “she’s too rock for country”, and “too country for punk” and throughout the song, she takes aim at industry insiders for always trying to put her music in a box instead of letting her breathe and become the artist she truly is.

Speaking about the powerful release, Kalie Shorr says: “I never thought this song would see the light of day… I wrote it last year as a personal encouragement to myself a few days before I went into the studio to record Open Book. Now, a year later, so much has changed… but there’s some things that never will”

‘My Voice’ is a hugely important single from Kalie Shorr and one that allows her to tell her truth like never before. She isn’t afraid to stand up for herself and her music and this song is all about finding the power within in order to feel confident in the art she is creating, the industry needs voices such as Kalie’s so that it can move forward to an all-inclusive place.
