Lauren Davidson Releases New Single ‘Backfire’

Fast-rising country-pop performer Lauren Davidson is making some serious waves this year and is building on the breakout success of last year by following up ‘Live In The Light’ with the brilliant ‘Backfire’ which is available to stream and download right now across all platforms.

The standout track from Davidson is the latest to be lifted off her forthcoming EP ‘Hindsight Is 2020’ which is slated for release later in the year with the record promising to be an eclectic mix of country crossover jams that will showcase the US singer/songwriter’s talents further.

And with ‘Backfire’ Lauren Davidson has delivered a delightful taste of what’s to come from her forthcoming project with a song that will no doubt delight her growing international fanbase as she looks to push further into the mainstream market in the coming months with her music.

Speaking about the single to Guitar Girl Magazine, Lauren stated: “I wrote, “Backfire” early last year after the pandemic hit with my buddy Adam McDonough who I wrote, “Soaking Up Every Second” with. I was spending all of this time at home for the first time in a long time, and with all of my shows and touring being canceled and bad news after bad news every day, I found myself at a crossroads and sometimes a low. I wanted to write something that felt hopeful about the future. “Backfire” is about rising from the ashes when things don’t go the way you hoped and planned, and instead of breaking down, lighting that match within you and letting that fire burn inside of you and drive you to whatever is next”.

It’s an uplifting and optimistic look at what comes next and is a message that is needed right now as we begin to look at what life will be like for all of us post-pandemic – and Lauren has delivered an expertly crafted country crossover release that will resonate and inspire listeners across the globe.
