EXCLUSIVE: Alyssa Marie Coon Talks New Single ‘Before I’m Out There’

Fast-rising country music singer/songwriter Alyssa Marie Coon has today shared her brilliant new single ‘Before I’m Out There’ a fantastic offering that gives the teenager an opportunity to shine a light on her growing musical maturity, and beautiful vocal as she pushes for global chart success.

Here we chat exclusively to Alyssa to find out more about her latest release:

How excited are you to be sharing your new single?
I’m really excited about releasing my new single. It’s one of my favorite songs I’ve written so far.

Can you tell us about the overall writing experience for this track?
I co-wrote this song with my friend, we finished the song in less than two hours. We had a fun time creating it.

Who did you team up with to bring this vision to life?
I wrote this song with my good friend Maggie Baugh. We’ve written many songs together, and I recorded this song with Keith Ridenour and Wayne Hood. When Keith listened to me playing the song, he pictured a certain vibe for it. We spoke about it and we executed the plan for it. When I perform it live on Facebook, it seems to be a fan favorite.

Where did you look to for lyrical inspiration?
I have so many friends who are all different ages. I’ve seen some of them go off to college and go through tough times realizing they have to grow up. I know that when I’ve played this song live, people in the audience cry. I had a man tell me that their own niece is at MIT and she just recently found out she had a spare tire in her car.

What do you hope listeners take away from the song and its story?
I hope listeners take the time to teach their children what they can to prepare them for life. There are parents who don’t take the time to teach their kids. I also want listeners to realize how valuable and influential they are in their kids’ lives. Kids are only little once. We need guidance, nurturing, love, and support. I know my parents are preparing me for life and being on my own “Before I’m Out There”.

Can we expect a video to be shared to accompany this release?
I will be releasing a lyric video for this song. I don’t have plans for a music video at this time.

How does it feel to be sharing new music during these strange times?
I love being able to share new music during these strange times. It’s been good therapy.

Did you spend much of your lockdown creating new music?
Absolutely I did. I co-wrote often. I also practiced playing drums daily too. I do play classical piano and guitar as well.

Can we expect a full-length album from you soon?
Right now I’m releasing singles. COVID has limited the frequency of my releases. I’m hoping to get back to releasing singles every three months. Some of my singles will just be acoustics and others will be fully produced.

What else do you have planned this year?
My 16th birthday is next month, and I will be releasing another single I wrote called “@16”. I am excited to share this one as well.
