EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Louise Parker Talks New Single ‘Littel But Drnk’
This coming Friday (November 11th), on-the-rise British country music artist Louise Parker will release her brand new single titled ‘Littel Bit Drnk’ a prequel to that excellent drinking song and if all goes well with this release, it could go on to become her fourth number 1 on the country chart.
Here we chat exclusively with Louise Parker to discuss the forthcoming track in more detail:
This new era feels fresh and exciting for you, would you say you have a new approach to releasing music?
Being a fully independent artist this year has really given me the freedom to explore the music industry. I have definitely stepped it up this year in terms of my social media, promotion and professionalism, and I’ve really loved almost every aspect of it (self-promotion has never come easy to me!).
Your new single arrives on Friday, how excited are you to share this one?
It feels like a long time coming. I started performing this song end of 2021, after writing it in September of 2021, and it became a staple in my set. It feels really natural to be releasing it, it already belongs to my fans.
In terms of sonic style, how would you say this song compares to previous releases?
With the subject matter of the last two songs being emotionally heavy I’ve definitely swayed more towards the rock end of the country scale. I’ve never boxed myself in when it comes to music, you can’t tie something down that should be free. Because of that, I have released music in a plethora of genres, meaning I’ve connected with so many different people. I will never regret any of the music I’ve put out, but these songs feel like me, right now.
This could be your fourth Country #1, what are your feelings about that?
Four is my favourite number, which is completely irrelevant! It would be really nice to achieve my fourth number one with ‘Littel Bit Drnk’, but I try not to put too much pressure on myself with the charts or numbers. As long as my fans love it and I love it, that’s what’s important to me.
Do you have any fun promotional campaigns planned to work toward that goal?
I’ve really got to grips with my social media this year, I feel like I finally understand Facebook after 10 years of having a page! I have all my social media planned up until the end of the year, with a few fun surprises along the way. Those that know me, know how unpredictable I can be, and how terrible I am with my music secrets! I started the year with a list of goals; I’ve achieved half of them already, a couple I know I won’t be able to complete but coming to terms with that has actually been really healthy for me. It’s a reminder of how far I’ve come and how far I’ve got left to go.
Looking ahead, what else does this year hold for you?
I have two gigs in December and then I’m done, for this year… but next year is already shaping up to be huge with four planned releases and maybe even a tour (I’ll never tell!!!).
