EXCLUSIVE: Macy Krew Talks New Single ‘Royalty’

American Idol alumni Macy Krew has fast become one of the most loved voices within the country-pop world and as her star continues to rise she has shared her brand new single ‘Royalty’ which demonstrates further that she is one of the most exciting crossover performers rising up the ranks.

Here we chat exclusively with Macy Krew to discuss the track further:

Congratulations on the release of your new single ‘Royalty’, how did you find the writing process for that track?

Thank you so much! It’s my favorite song yet. Writing this song was so empowering. I had a vision of respecting royalty, and then the whole song quickly came together with lots of sass. I truly believe every word of this song and I was brutally honest with my thoughts that day.

What are you hoping your listeners will take away from the songs lyrical story?

I want my listeners to take away strong confidence and self-worth from this song. You can do anything you put your mind to, no matter who or what tries to get in your way. In all aspects of life, you deserve to be respected like royalty, so don’t ever hold back your presence or personality. Be unapologetically yourself.

You’ve recently been touted as one of the best emerging country-pop voices, how does that praise make you feel?

The praise truly means the absolute world to me. Everything has been such a dream come true. My fans are the best and the support I get from reviews and shows leave me so beyond grateful. Thank you to every person who’s supported me along the way.

With your new single, you’re looking to build on your previous critic and fan acclaim, so what promotional ideas do you have planned for this release?

The release was a blast.  Everything from lots of sass, glitter, and honest captions can be continued to be expected with this song.

Fans will be eager to get a full body of work off you soon so can we expect this track to lead to an album?

I am definitely working on lots of fun things right now. I hope to have an EP out in the near future and this song would definitely be on that

How are you finding the process of sharing new music during a pandemic?

This pandemic has been interesting, to say the least. I have used the time to connect more with my fans, write more music, and find creative new ways to spread my music with my team. Social media has been a blessing in itself and I love reading your messages and talking to you! I miss seeing all of you at shows but am hopeful for the future times together.

Can we expect this song to be accompanied by an official music video at some point?

The music video is definitely in the works and I cannot wait to show you all what’s going on with it! Get ready.

Looking ahead, what are you long term career goals?

I have a lot of long-term career goals. Ideally, I would love to play the Opry and an award show someday. I hope to also gain a record deal with a team that truly believes in me and my work. Once the pandemic is over, I look forward to touring again and hope to continue to do so. Music and performing are my absolute favorite things in the world. I cannot wait to release an album and continue to build my career. Everyone’s support truly is so special to me and I can’t put into words how much I appreciate it!
