Gemma Louisianna Announces New Single ‘Yellow Hoodie’
Country music performer Gemma Louisianna returns on Friday, March 12th with the release of her brand new single titled ‘Yellow Hoodie’, the forthcoming track is the singer/songwriters’ fifth single which have been steadily shared since her standout debut offering back in 2016.

Speaking about the track, Gemma states: “I started writing yellow hoodie with the first line of the chorus ‘I don’t wear your yellow hoodie anymore’ when I was feeling sad about seeing such a sentimental item of clothing that I knew I didn’t have the heart to wear anymore because it held too many memories. Yellow Hoodie is all about the first steps of acceptance and moving on from a relationship. We all have items/memories/places that we hold onto in that initial period of missing someone, but the realisation hits you eventually that you need to disassociate yourself from these as the first step to being free. Yellow Hoodie for me is that realisation. It’s an item of clothing that was special to me from someone that I cared about that brought pain in the first stages of moving on. We often overthink and wonder about the ‘could be’s‘, wonder what the other person is doing when we’re no longer in their lives, but the first step to moving on is to let go of those associations that we naturally cling onto when we’re hurting.”
It’s a unique starting point for a song about relationships, heartbreak, and breaking up and it’s one that shines a light on the talent Gemma Louisianna not only possesses as a vocalist but also as a songwriter – she has an effortless ability to craft songs that connect and she has done that once again with this release.
