Frankie Davies Releases New EP ‘Home This Year’
Following on from the release of her stellar single ‘If I Didn’t Love You’ back in November, on-the-rise UK country-folk singer/songwriter Frankie Davies returns with her brand new Christmas EP ‘Home This Year’ with the five-track project bringing together a wonderful mix of holiday originals.
The impressive project features an array of standout lyrical stories from family traditions, to true love at Christmas there is a story in there for everyone and every single person will no doubt be able to resonate on some level with the themes and stories weaved throughout the songs.
Frankie Davies is an exquisite storyteller and with ‘Home This Year’ she has shone a light on that amazing talent whilst delivering an incredible soundscape of country, folk, and Americana to create an EP that really stands out. This is a truly sublime collection of festive tracks.
Speaking about her latest project, Frankie says: “Christmas this year is going to be a challenge for many families across the world. Writing this collection of songs was a way of looking back fondly on my family traditions, but also coming to terms with the fact that I may not get to share Christmas with them. I hope they can act as a comfort to the listener but also a reflection of the sadness that not being with loved ones can bring.”
The EP is a beautiful combination of happy memories of past Christmasses tinged with sadness that this year’s celebrations may look very different from what we’re all used to. Frankie has done a wonderful job of creating a record that is heartfelt, melancholy, and yet uplifting at the same time.
