Jenny Leigh Miller Releases New Single ‘God and Country’

Former US Army Intel. Sgt, Jenny Leigh Miller is one incredible woman, having joined the military when she was just 18-years-old she has a discipline and strength that has served herself and her country for many years. Now retired from service the singer/songwriter has turned her attention to a career in country music.

Her new release comes in the form of the powerful ‘God and Country’ which is available to stream and download ahead of America’s Veterans Day with the poignant lyrical story reflecting on her life-changing decision to join the US Army as a teenager, it’s a deeply personal release and truly beautiful.

The song has been solely penned by Jenny Leigh Miller with the track being finely produced by Kolt Barber who creates a sonic backdrop that perfectly accompanies the powerful lyrics with warm acoustics while the steady rhythm cradles the nostalgic sentiment, meanwhile, the rocking guitar solos build to stand for, and represent, the hope, conviction and patriotic pride of a little girl, all-grown-up.

Speaking about her new single, Jenny says: “I had always wanted to write a song about my experience serving and capture my unique life experience and transition from being a girly-girl cheerleader to wearing combat gear in the desert. While I am very proud to have served my country, I didn’t want to sugarcoat it. There are a few lines in the track that demonstrate the true reality of an 18-year-old woman going to war. Music and songwriting became therapeutic for me; it helped to ease the stress of being away from home and military life. All in all, I wanted to dedicate the song to the brave military, police, firefighters, first responders, and anyone and everyone who believes in ‘God And Country’”

It’s a raw and honest take on what Jenny Leigh Miller has been through as a young woman basically growing up in the Army. It’s powerful, and emotive and gives a real insight into the every-day struggles of being away from loved ones whilst in combat gear. This is an incredible release from a very special artist.
