MacKenzie Porter Releases New EP ‘Drinkin’ Songs The Collection’

Having had a career-defining year so far in her native Canada, rising country crossover talent MacKenzie Porter is ready to wow again with her incredible new single ‘The One’ which is being released alongside a stunning EP titled ‘Drinkin’ Songs The Collection’ which brings together 7 songs that have changed her career.

The new lead release is a bittersweet ballad that offers Porter the chance to showcase her gorgeous vocal tone like never before whilst the lilting melody and standout lyrics take listeners through an ex-lovers wedding day, where the ex marries the one who came along after you, with the story painting the picture of how it feels to be the one, before the one.

Speaking about the single, Porter says: “I can’t wait for the world to hear this song. It’s been in my back pocket for over a year and I think it’s my favorite release yet. May you never be ‘the one before the ONE’ but for those of us who have been… this one’s for us!”

It’s a cleverly written track that was penned by MacKenzie alongside Tom Douglas, Claire Douglas, and Madison Kozak who have come together to create a truly impressive offering that perfectly supports the full tracklist of the ‘Drinkin Songs The Collection’ project from the multi-talented performer.

Talking about her latest project, MacKenzie Porter states: “The last two years have been a wild ride since I released ‘About You’ to the world. I can’t express to you guys how incredibly grateful I am for you sticking by me and helping me celebrate all of the successes (big and small)! So today, I am not only releasing one new song, called ‘The One,’ but, as a thank you — it felt like the right time to bring all my song babies into one home. It’s a beautiful collection that allows for the rising talent to bring all her tracks together on one truly outstanding tracklist as she closes out a phenomenal two-year chapter before she ushers in a new era in 2021 which promises to be every bit as successful as the one before it as she continues on the path to global stardom.
