His storytelling and musicianship set him apart and the influence of artists such as Jason Isbell, and, Bob Dylan runs through the core of his output.

The latest release from Joe Martin follows on from the success of his previous breakout single ‘Heartbreak Cult’ which set a marker for the kind of country music he is looking to create as he carves out a place for himself within the genre. Steeped in classic country styles his music is modern, yet classic.

Speaking about the upcoming single release, Joe Martin says: “I guess most people have gone through the experience of someone close to them leaving town. It’s never a good feeling. Sometimes your emotions can become clouded and you might try and talk the person out of it. Maybe because you’re selfish, other times because you genuinely think they’re making the wrong decision.”

The track tells a strong emotional tale of a good friend deciding to move away, and you wanting them to stay; a tale many people will be able to relate to. The lyrical story is strong, emotional, and very relatable whilst the image evoking words will stay with you long after the song has finished playing.
