Joey Clarkson and Two Ways Home Announce ‘One More For The Road’ Collaboration
UK based country music singer/songwriter Joey Clarkson has teamed up with Brit-Australian duo Two Ways Home, and her husband Peter Dixon for a stunning new collaboration titled ‘One More For The Road’ with the highly anticipated single being officially released on Friday, October 9th.
The poignant track from the group of musicians is all about long-lost friends bein reunited; a subject that has a far deeper meaning right now with so many of us separated from our loved ones due to COVID restrictions, and the emotive lyrics will no doubt strike a chord with many.
Heavily inspired by the national divide that been caused by the global Coronavirus pandemic, Joey, Peter, Lewis, and Isabella, thought it was ironic, yet fitting, that they all originally hail from different corners of the world. The track pays homage to the day when lockdown restrictions are entirely lifted and we can all be together again without having to be six-foot apart.
Speaking about the forthcoming collaboration, Joey Clarkson states: “‘One More For The Road’ was born out of our frustration at the 2020 lockdown, and – instead of honing in on the negative aspects of life in lockdown – focuses on looking forward to the days we can all go back out and spend time with friends that we might have lost touch with. It’s a feel-good song to sing along to at the top of your lungs.”
It’s an incredibly timely offering from Joey, and Two Ways Home with a quarter of UK residents now facing local lockdown and having legal restrictions on who they can meet, when they can meet-up, and how many they can have in a group. It will no doubt be an incredibly sweet moment when we can be together again without any lockdown rules and this song offers a glimmer of hope for that beautiful day.
