Laurr Shares ‘Sell My Soul’ Lyric Video

On-the-rise country music performer Laurr has wowed with her latest single titled ‘Sell My Soul’ which is a brilliant moody, blues-infused track that explores a striking lyrical story arc throughout with a view to bringing listeners on a journey of self-discovery in a time of unbalance.

The song has been co-written by the Nashville based artist alongside Corey Lawson with the pair coming up with a strong story to drive home the multi-genre crossover release that has a melancholy backdrop of what would you truly be willing to do in order to survive – a process inspired by quarantine last year.

Laurr looks deep into the psyche of herself and explores how far she was thinking of going down a route that was not good for the soul in order to survive in a world that had been turned upside down – thankfully the singer/songwriter stayed on the straight and narrow and instead worked multiple jobs but with this single, she looks at what could have happened too.

Speaking about the track, Laurr states: “The inspiration behind Sell My Soul came from what people did or would be willing to do for money during quarantine in April. I myself had to work three jobs to keep from feeling insecure in a time of uncertainty. While others decided to take some unsavory paths, which were also very tempting to me. In the end, would those less savory paths be worth “selling your soul” over, and what is the dollar really worth? With the help of my producer/co-writer Corey Lawson, I feel we were able to capture the meaning of the lyrics with a driving bluesy melody and dark tone.”

It’s a deep-thinking offering from an artist ready to bare her soul in order to create the most authentic music she can whilst the mystical, striking lyric video wonderfully brings the lyrical concept to life in a beautiful visual way allowing for the words to hit home in a dynamic way.
