Margo Price Releases New Album ‘That’s How Rumors Get Started’

Last week American country music superstar Margo Price released her long-awaited third studio album titled ‘That’s How Rumors Get Started’. The record was originally slated for a May 8th release but was pushed back due to the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and instead dropped on July 10th via Loma Vista Recordings.

The impressive project sees Margo experimenting with a variety of eclectic sonic sounds including soft rock which merges with the country esque backdrop perfectly to create a standout tracklist that will delight listeners of all ages. Her powerful vocal control combined with the relatable lyrics weaved throughout makes the LP a truly spectacular body of work.

Having been produced by Sturgill Simpson alongside a stellar lineup of session musicians, including James Gadson (Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye) and Benmont Tench (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers) the album delivers songs that cover a wide variety of themes including grief, and heartbreak making it a real contender for record of the year.

Speaking about the 10-track release, Margo Price says: “I labored over this record. I labored over a new baby, I labored over the state of the world, and finally ‘That’s How Rumors Get Started’ is out today”.

The record is a wonderful collection of songs that shine a light on Margo’s raspy, yet powerful vocal display and also showcase her as one of country music’s leading songwriters. She is a true artist, she is able to effortlessly convey a wave of emotions throughout each and every song and this tracklist is nothing short of phenomenal.

‘That’s How Rumors Get Started’ is quite possibly Price’s best album to date, and despite the logistical hurdles placed in its way earlier this year the project has found its home in the world and is set to become one of the most listened and loved releases of 2020.
