Melanie Meriney Releases New Single ‘Cool Girl’

Over the past few years, multi-talented singer/songwriter Melanie Meiney has broken out in a big way and is now one of the most revered and loved artists within the growing country music scene and now she is ready to take the next step on her journey to global chart success with the release of ‘Cool Girl’.

The rising talent has teamed up with renowned writer Krista Angelucci to craft this truly stellar offering, the pair of gifted musicians crafted the song together several years ago whilst in Key West and it’s really great to see the track now being released as an official single.

It is an excellent sass-filled pop crossover hit that showcases the effortless talent Melanie Meriney possesses both as a vocalist and as a songwriter – the country music scene is lucky to have an artist as talented as Meriney and this feels like the start of something truly special for the performer.

Speaking about the release and its lyrical inspiration, Melanie says: “We had been discussing the book “Gone Girl” by Gillian Flynn and there’s a quote in there that talks about what a “cool girl” is – a girl that agrees with everything a guy says, is perfect, hot, and accommodating. While not all guys think this way, the notion was pretty funny to us, so we were inspired to write a song about what guys think they want from a girl, when in reality, a girl that challenges them is so much better”.

It’s a fascinating base to build a song from and the result is a fantastically inspired country-pop track that is expertly pieced together with a unique story arc that paints a stellar visual bringing the whole thing together in a wonderful way that makes you want to hit repeat multiple times.
