American country music singer/songwriter Mickey Guyton had a phenomenal 2020 with the release of her debut EP ‘Bridges’, and multiple hit singles, and moving into 2021 she has shown that she is ready to take her career to the next level and become one of the genre’s most influential artists.

And beginning that exciting journey for a year which is also set to see her drop her long-awaited debut album, the powerhouse vocalist has shared her stunning cover of Beyonce’s global smash-hit ‘If I Were A Boy’ for Amazon’s Original series which sees songs released exclusively on their music platform.

It’s a truly sublime rendition from country performer Mickey Guyton with her very much relating to the lyrical story which has taken on a deeper meaning for her during the last couple of years, and her version is raw with emotive energy that makes the track completely her own.

Speaking about her decision to cover the song to Amazon, Guyton stated: “It was important for me to record ‘If I Were A Boy’ because I have been fighting in country music for so long to just be accepted for who I am. This song represents the release and the birth of something new. Really this song means so much more to me and has taken on a completely different meaning, than when I first heard it.
