She’s Still The One; Shania Twain Scores UK Number 1 With New LP
A bonafide superstar Shania Twain has proven she is still very much the one this week with her sixth studio album ‘Queen of Me’ rocketing straight to the top of the UK Album Chart following a week-long race with pop sensation Raye but it was Twain who took the crown in the Friday countdown.
The legendary country-pop icon saw her latest collection take the top spot with around 14,000 units sold, taking the lead in the race by around 4,000 units, Shania also topped the UK Vinyl Chart with her selling more wax copies than any other artist showing that she is still so loved by fans.
This LP is Twain’s first since her outstanding comeback album ‘Now’ which was released in 2017 following a 15-year forced hiatus from sharing recorded music due to losing her voice which was caused by neurological issues due to complications from Lymes disease but following extensive surgery she has regained control of her voice.
‘Now’ also peaked at number 1 in the UK, and ‘Queen of Me’ is Shania Twain’s third album to hit the top spot with the iconic ‘Come On Over’ doing the same in 1998 with that LP selling in excess of 40 million copies worldwide with it being the biggest selling album by a solo female artist in any genre in history.
Twain takes the ‘Queen of Me’ on a global tour later this year and will be playing across the UK in September with arena dates in cities across the country – tickets are on sale now.
