Song Of The Week – Kenny Foster and Ags Connolly’s ‘Auld Lang SYne (Once Again)’
Here at Music and Tour News HQ, we are thrilled to be continuing to team up with the wonderful folk over at Modern Age Music to bring you our chosen Song Of The Week and to round out 2021 we are delighted to announce that Kenny Foster and Ags Connolly’s ‘Auld Lang Syne’ is this week’s pick.
The track has been a long-time favourite and a custom tradition for revellers to belt out on New Year’s Eve to ring in the New Year and with this cover version, the two hitmakers have put their own spin on the song and crafted a stellar new version that will no doubt get everyone ready for 2022.
The two singers have been friends for years and have shared the stage multiple times and for this release, they teamed up remotely to record their vocals due to international travel restrictions that were put in place over the last year and a half, but the distance hasn’t stopped them for creating an instant hit.
To bring their vision to life, Kenny Foster and Ags Connolly teamed up with renowned music maker Mitch Dane who has done a fabulous job of crafting a sonic production overlay that sounds fresh whilst retaining a hold on the classic vibe of the song making it a brilliant and updated offering.
To some, the pair seem like an unlikely duet partnership, but Foster’s smooth Tennessee twang perfectly compliments Ags’ British grit tone making the collaboration a stellar release that allows both of their voices to shine in different and unique ways allowing them a platform to share something that is wonderfully theirs.
