The Marfa Tapes Documentary to Premiere January 20th
It has formally been announced that The Marfa Tapes documentary will premiere exclusively across TV and movie streaming service Paramount+ on January 20th with the film offering a rare insight into the making of the album from Miranda Lambert, Jack Ingram, and Jon Randall.
The forthcoming visual will deliver a glimpse into how ‘The Marfa Tapes’ LP came to life with clips from the recording studio – the 2021 LP was a global smash-hit and was most recently nominated for Best Country Album at the 64th annual GRAMMY Awards (the ceremony has been postponed).
Along with premiering in the US on January 20th, the film will also be rolled out across the Nordics, Australia, Latin America, and Canada on the same day allowing a worldwide fanbase to immerse themselves in the world of the album and the making of which is sure to become a piece of music history.
The upcoming documentary has been directed by renowned filmmaker Spencer Peeples and features live performances set against the gorgeous backdrop of West Texas, The Marfa Tapes will also feature candid interviews and BTS footage captured during a five-day recording session back in November 2020.
Recorded very loosely and raw, ‘The Marfa Tapes is a rare piece of work that will stand the test of time and this film wonderfully captures the magic of how the record came to life and enhances the featured songs whilst delivering a once-in-a-lifetime snapshot into the process behind the recording of the body of work.
