The Rising Announce New Single ‘2AM Call’

Established independent country/rock duo The Rising continue their incredible run of single releases this year with another stellar offering that drops on Friday, October 30th in the form of the hotly anticipated ‘2AM Call’ which is sure to be another standout offering from the Irish duo.

The forthcoming track will be accompanied by an official lyric and music video signaling that this is penciled in to be one of their biggest hits to date as they look to continue flourishing in the Indie British and Irish country crossover scene and build on the foundation of success they have already achieved so far.

It was during lockdown that The Rising decided to take that extra time and really hone in on their craft and the result has been a strategy of releasing a single every month throughout 2020 and this latest being ‘2AM Call’ that was penned alongside Northern Ireland’s artist Ellis is a hugely exciting track.

Lyrically the song recounts the tale of an extremely public breakup that has been witnessed on a night out; a cruel way to be rejected and throughout the lyrics, the Irish duo weave the imagery of that early morning heartbreak perfectly as they bring the whole affair to the surface and truly make you feel like you were there too.

Speaking about their latest release, The Rising say:” The song is written after a night out in a bar (The Parlour – mentioned in the song) where we observed a guy sitting at a bar talking to the bartender. He then went outside where he had an argument with a girl. Minutes later He arrived back into the same place and began talking again to the bartender who began to console him. We later found out that he had arrived with the girl and they had just broken up. After witnessing this we thought that it would make a great narrative for a song. So after arriving back to Eilís’ apartment we wrote down the skeleton of the song. We constructed the narrative that the couple had broken up and in a distraught state the guy calls the girl every night at 2am after drowning his sorrows asking for forgiveness. Wondering why she left him and dreaming of a way to get her back”.
