Ward Thomas Share ‘Meant To Be Me’ Lyric Video
As the build-up to their forthcoming studio album ‘Invitation,’ Ward Thomas are continuing to share tracks off the LP and the latest single is the stunning ‘Meant To Be Me’ which tells the story of a love lost and those feelings of what could have been if you had just let your guard down.
The track is the direct follow-up to the synth-pop infused hit ‘Sweet Time’ and will be followed by the gorgeous strings drenched ‘Someday’ ahead of the albums release date on October 9th with all three songs showcasing a versatile sonic stylistic that will feature throughout the upcoming record.
And with the new single ‘Meant To Be Me’ gaining momentum across streaming and radio playlists, Ward Thomas have now shared the official lyric video for the track bringing the bittersweet lyrical story to life perfectly in a pared-back way allowing for the message of the song to take center stage.
Featuring a scrap-book visual the video features multiple sweet polaroids of couples holding hands, and snapshots of coffee dates, etc bringing the message of unity and true-love to life whilst also retaining the threat of what happens when the heart breaks and as lovers, you go your separate ways.
Speaking about how the song came to life, Ward Thomas said: “We wrote this song in Nashville with the wonderful Emily Reid and Joe Ginsberg. After a slightly frustrating morning, we were running late for our session, luckily Joe and Emily are the two best people to turn one of those days into a very fun, productive, and creative afternoon”.
