Zoee Releases New Single ‘Break My Heart’

Fresh from the release of her stunning, inspirational, and very timely single ‘The Song We Sing’ a few weeks back, Scotland based, Australian born country singer/songwriter Zoee has returned with another phenomenal release this time in the form of new song ‘Break My Heart’.

The emotive new offering once again sees the performer dig deep for an enriching lyrical story that focuses on the free joy you often feel as a youngster on the cusp of entering the “real world” and the freedom and happiness you think will enrich your dream chasing only to find out that there are moments that are going to try and pull that happiness away from you, with the story cleverly being portrayed as a love song.

The lyrics offer real insight into the dark moments we often face in our lives whilst offering hope and light that there is beauty to be found in every situation and that there are going to be highs and lows at every turn and thanks to its stunning production it is a hugely impressive offering that drives the message of unity and hope home.

Speaking about her newest single, Zoee says: “Break My Heart is written as a love song but it has a message of society etched through
it. It’s almost like you start out as this young person and you hope that the world is going to be this wonderful place to explore and to grow up into, filled with so many opportunities, and you expect life to be this promise of joy and happiness… And there is this feeling of awe and everything is waiting for you on the other side of something, and often times you don’t even know what that something is that you’re waiting for. You keep trying to do your absolute best, but as you get older you realise that everything is trying to compress you and squeeze that joy out of you, and that’s what this song is all about. To me, music should be about the real moments in life…. the highs and the lows. The moments when we need a gentle nudge to keep climbing. The greatest music in history, in my experience, has united people of all walks of life”.
