Lady A Announce New Album ‘What A Song Can DO’
Hot on the heels of their stunningly constructed EP ‘What A Song Can Do’, Grammy award-winning country music trio Lady A have now announced the details of their forthcoming full-length studio album of the same name with the record scheduled for an October 22nd release date.
The upcoming collection sees the multi-platinum band continuing their return to their sonic roots with their eighth LP showcasing their breathtaking artistry and ever-growing artistic growth – they sound best when they strip everything back to its core and allow their harmonies and lyrical stories to take centre stage and this is what this project is all about.
‘What A Song Can Do’ is Lady A at their best, and their newest single ‘Where Would I Be’ is a perfect taste of what’s to come from the album later this year. It’s a classic country song that takes the three-piece back in time to when they first started, there is no outside influence this is just Lady A as they were meant to sound.
Speaking about the collection, Charles Kelley says: “We’ve rediscovered our purpose, and it’s to entertain and spread a positive message – I really truly believe that. I want our legacy to be songs that make people feel good. But, I also think there’s more to our story that hasn’t been written yet.”
The 14-song tracklist is steeped in old-school Lady A vibes and is filled with gracious, and uplifting songs that showcase the group’s longevity. Whilst ‘Working On This Love’ allows us to hear Dave Haywood stepping up to the mic for his first-ever solo vocal with the tender acoustic poem being written for his wife, Kelli.
