Dierks Bentley Releases New Single ‘Gone’
Country music icon Dierks Bentley is back and sounding better than ever on new single ‘Gone’ which is the first release of music from the American chart star in two years following on the 2018 album ‘Mountains’ which was an incredible body of work an album that is still very much a fan favourite.
The track has been penned by an all-star team of songwriters; Nicolle Galyon, Ben Johnson, and the solo artist Niko Moon and focuses on the subject of lost love and what could have been. It’s all about that heavy feeling of losing someone you loved and that dark path of avoiding all those around you as you focus on the heartbreak and lose touch with what you already have.
Despite its theme of heartbreak, the production is uptempo which gives a little light to the melancholy vibe of the lyrics and the massive sing-a-long chorus will no doubt become a staple of festivals when they return. The upbeat backdrop combined with the darker lyrics makes this feel like a direct follow-up to his global hit ‘Drunk On A Plane’.
Speaking about his latest release, Dierks Bentley says: “We are all relying on lyrics and melodies at home and trying however we can to find different ways to connect with our fans, so that they know how important they still are to us. I hope this song resonates with mine, and I’m counting the days until we can all be back together again, beers in the air.”
The track is a real standout from Dierks and having made his listeners wait a whole two years for new music he has certainly delivered a song well worth the long wait. ‘Gone’ is a huge country anthem and one that will no doubt go on to become one of his biggest global chart hits.
