EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Jack & Tim Talk New Single ‘Stairs of The Ryman’

Now based permanently in Nashville, TN British father-son duo Jack & Tim last month (April 2024) released their stunning new single ‘Stairs Of The Ryman’, portraying their dreams and hopes for the future. Here we chat exclusively with the pair to discuss the track and their US experiences so far:

You recently relocated to Nashville, how have you and your family settled, in the States?

It’s been a bit of a whirlwind so far…we touched down the end of Feb rehearsed with the band , collected the 40 foot Tour bus and we’ve been out on the road ever since

How does it feel to be living and releasing music in Nashville?

Hard to describe, but there are days when all you want is to see the rolling English landscape on either side of the M25 and enjoy a Sunday lunch! As we’ve been on the road touring through several states we’ve yet to settle, but this morning we’re in Pennsylvania filming a Morning TV Show “Good Morning PA” and singing our new Single “Stairs Of The Ryman”. Then we head back to Nashville for a short break then we head out to Texas on June 15 for a couple of shows. Recording in Nashville is always cool though, Of course it is! It’s NASHVILLE!!

Do you feel the community there has embraced you?

Oh for sure, Our circle includes some wonderful people and friends, from Grammy winners to porch pickers, we love to hang and sit around the fire making memories and music along the way.

What’s it been like creating in Music City on a daily basis?

It can be pretty hectic, and it does depend on how many co-writes you want to cram into a day, personally, it’s 2 max for us, we prefer to really connect to the song we’re creating. But we happily work 6/7 days a week, taking afternoons off here and there.

Your new single is ‘Stairs Of The Ryman’ What was the writing process like for this one?

All props go to our co-writers Maria Chistensen and Anthony Nuniazta , they killed it. Songwriting is a weird thing, sometimes it just flows and you have no idea where it comes from ..when it’s finished? we try not to question how we got there .. as long as we do! LOL

What are you hoping listeners take away from the lyrics?

The Journey .. the goal. it’s all the same… and actually how soul-breaking and heart-wrenching this life we choose can be. But we all still forge ahead.

Do you have any set goals in mind for the release?

Yes, we always said we would never set foot in the Ryman Auditorium until we play that stage. This song is about that, soon hopefully we’ll get to play this song as our debut at the Ryman.

Can we expect more original music soon?

Always, got some cool things happening.

Looking ahead, what else does 2024 hold for you?

I think for now, we will carry on touring, quick rest, writing recording, releasing, rinse and repeat, that’s kind of how we see the year ahead.
