Joe McElderry Announces New Country Crossover Single ‘Baby Had Your Fun’
2009 X Factor champion Joe McElderry is best known for creating anthemic pop hits and moving classical tracks but as we kick-off 2021 he is ready to show yet another side to his impressive sound this time with a country crossover smash ‘Baby Had Your Fun’ which drops on January 22nd.
The forthcoming release is Joe as you’ve never heard him before as he expertly blends classic country music styles with uptempo disco beats incorporating inspirations from the likes of Fleetwood Mac, and Donna Summer to create a soundscape that is fresh, exciting, and uniquely his own.
With ‘Baby Had Your Fun’, Joe McElderry ushers in an exhilarating and intriguing new musical chapter as he looks to build on his decade of success in the industry, both as a chart star and West End phenomenon by showcasing he is able to turn his hand to any genre of music and create songs that connect.
The upcoming single was written by McElderry during lockdown back last year and included sessions with songwriters from around the globe including Sweden, USA, London, and Sheffield, and features a cheeky Western flair, traditional disco beats, and tongue-in-cheek attitude.
Meanwhile, the official music video that will accompany the song was filmed at Little Mix star Jade Thirwall’s Nightclub in South Shields and shows Joe McElderry is as confident on the dancefloor as he is behind the mic making for a wonderful piece of filmography that perfectly brings the track to life.
