Nashville Meets London on Royal Albert Home live-stream Timings Announced
This Saturday (July 18th) country music festival Nashville Meets London will take their annual event online due to this year’s festival being cancelled in the face of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The events organisers will instead keep everybody safe by teaming up with the Royal Albert Hall for a special live-stream event across Royal Albert Home.
The virtual event will see American superstars The Cadillac Three, and Michael Ray taking to the “stage” alongside Canadian sensation Tenille Townes, and homegrown talent Twinnie. The live-stream will be available to watch for free but there is an option to donate in order to raise funds for the Royal Albert Hall venue so that it is preserved for years to come following its forced closure this year.
The 90-minute concert will be hosted by DJ and Country Hits Radio presenter Matt Spracklen who also hosts the No Chords But The Truth Podcast and is a team member of the Nashville Meets London crew. The overall aim of Saturday’s gig is to raise vital funds for the venue which has been shut down for the first time since World War Two.
Speaking about the ongoing virtual Royal Albert Home series and Saturday’s NML event, the Royal Albert Hall’s artistic director Lucy Noble, says: “This series has spotlighted an incredible collection of world-class talents working in an extraordinary array of genres. Since we launched on 9 April, we’ve featured everything from Baxter Dury to Bach cello suites, from spoken word to homegrown soul. Now we’re absolutely delighted to announce the first country music concert as part of Royal Albert Home, showcasing four fantastic acts who’ll bring a little bit of Nashville into your living room. The line-up illustrates just how exciting and eclectic the world of country is right now, and we can’t wait to share this show with you.”
And now the complete timings for the Nashville Meets London live-stream showcase have been announced. Beginning at 7.30 pm the first act on “stage” will be York superstar Twinnie who will perform a selection of pop-infused hits off her breakout debut LP ‘Hollywood Gypsy’. Her set will be followed with an eclectic showcase from Michael Ray who always puts on a stellar performance. Tenille Townes will then take over for what promises to be a breathtaking live set. Closing out the night will be The Cadillac Three who will perform a selection of their biggest releases.
